Critiques for Change

Throughout the month of March, Copps Literary Services is offering authors an opportunity to receive feedback on their work in exchange for donations made directly to organizations working to end the assault on trans rights happening right now in the United States. Here’s how it works:

  • Make a $25 donation to one of the below organizations and receive written feedback on a query letter.

  • Make a $50 donation to one of the below organizations and receive a 10-minute publishing consultation call with one of our agents.

  • Make a $100 donation to one of the below organizations and an agent will read 10 pages of your manuscript (no written feedback) and meet with you for a 20-minute consultation call.

This opportunity is open from March 1 - March 31, 2022, but only the first 50 donations will receive a critique, so submit yours today!

Trans Rights Organizations

  • The Transgender Freedom Project is a national, centralized public education campaign to build public support for transgender-inclusive nondiscrimination protections. The goals of the project are to introduce more Americans to who transgender people are, develop winning campaign messages and strategies, and equip policymakers and campaigners with the proven strategies and tools needed to successfully advocate for laws that make transgender people safer and more equal.

  • Transgender Law Center changes law, policy, and attitudes so that all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression. Grounded in legal expertise and committed to racial justice, TLC employs a variety of community-driven strategies to keep transgender and gender nonconforming people alive, thriving, and fighting for liberation.

  • Marsha P. Johnson

The Marsha P. Johnson Institute (MPJI) protects and defends the human rights of Black transgender people. We do this by organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, developing transformative leadership, and promoting our collective power.
